Specific Need
We believe Old Abilene Town is a vital part of the community and our history. Our goals include keeping the history alive while adding new and exciting events. To keep the history alive, we need to repair and maintain several of the closed buildings that inhabit Old Abilene Town. Those buildings include, the Potter Kansan, Gunfighter's Shack, and the log cabins. Our plans for the Potter Kansan are to remodel, to make a conference area to be utilized by cowboy camp, student field trips and to compliment the Museum/Trail Center. The Gunfighter's Shack needs only a few renovations to become a meeting and storeage space for our re-enactors. The log cabins also need some tender loving care to keep them preserved for future generations. We hope Old Abilene Town holds a special place in your heart. Our Board of Directors are striving to create a place for you and your family to create life long memories.
