Kids in Crisis

Goal: $5,000.00

Mission

Our mission is to kick (KIC) poverty by providing greater opportunities for success among low-income children in the school setting, including the opportunity to gain proper treatment for vision, dental and hearing problems, the promotion of good health (both physical and mental), and the distribution of new school supplies to children in need.

Profile

We have served nearly 2,000 cases, each of the last three years, in helping children in Dickinson County, Kansas.  We have Kansas Kids in Crisis (KIC) Board of Directors representatives in every school who are easily accessible and ready to help children. The coordinator's name is also on handouts telling how the public can reach KIC members.

When individuals ask, "What does KIC do?", we answer, "Whatever the child needs KIC to do so they can be stronger in the school setting.

Kansas Kids in Crisis strives to give children living at or near the poverty level a greater sense of self-esteem through attempting to solve problems the children face while in school.  We are dedicated to helping needy children find success in classrooms across Dickinson County.

One of our coworkers said, "When no one else will help you with a child's need, Kids in Crisis will!"  That demonstrates the intensity we have toward helping children right here at home!
